FAQ
Here are some of my most frequently asked questions. If you have a question and do not see it answered here, please contact me.
What is freelance copywriting and editing?
Freelance copywriting/editing involves a professional writer who is hired to write or edit copy for marketing campaigns, advertising, brochures, websites, press releases, or any other written materials. The main objective is to create or finesse copy which customers will remember, refer to, and act on. Freelance writers are not salaried employees, rather independent contractors who run their own small business.
How much do you charge?
My rate is $70 per hour, but this figure may change due to budget, project difficulty, quantity, and whether a client consistently hires me for projects. I offer a 10% discount on my hourly fee to non-profit companies. Please contact me for a free consultation.
How long is your turn-around time?
Before I accept any project I will commit to an agreed upon deadline. This depends on the kind of material involved, the size of the project, and what other writing/editing assignments I am currently on.
How do revisions work?
The bid for each project includes the first draft plus two rounds of revisions. Additional revisions are invoiced at my normal hourly rate.
What are your payment terms?
As all jobs are different, I will provide a written quote for your project after our initial consultation and a fee agreement must be signed before I will begin working. An invoice will be sent to you at the end of each month until the project is complete. Clients who do not pay the invoices in full within 30 days from submission are charged 10% interest per month until the balance is paid.
Do you charge for research and meeting time?
In my bid, I will include time billed for research and meetings in addition to the two rounds of revisions that are automatically included in the contracted price. If additional reviews, meetings, and research are needed, it will be billed at an hourly rate. Additional services may be billed separately.
